The fascia represents the area where the roof meets the outer wall of the house and is sometimes called the Roofline.

Fascia -
The fascia board runs along the lower edge of the roof and is connected to the roof trusses and supports the bottom row of tiles as well as carrying the guttering.

Bargeboard -
The board used at the gable end of the house and nowadays comes in a variety of attractive shapes.

Soffit -
Tucked under the fascia board, the soffit board is what you normally see from street level. Often ventilated it provides fresh air into the roof space, essential to stop condensation and therefore decay.

Boxend -
The box end joins all items together at the end of the roofline.
